Makes sense. I know I probably couldn't do an Japanese exam about English. Also, the term localized as "rest-in-peace points" was "成仏ポイント" (joubutsu pointo), ie. Buddhahood points or Attaining Nirvana Points. Which I guess explains what the points are for. Rest-In-Peace is probably an accurate enough translation for 成仏 in most of the series, but I feel here, it is pretty clearly just referring to Buddhism like the Wheel of Reincarnation is as well, so they probably should've just kept it.
