Remind me again why they decided to reuse BotW's world map for TotK for the first time in the franchise but then left 90% of the map intact from how it looked like in the first game *and they made is so no fucking NPC remembered Link for some reason*? How is it possible that nobody in Hateno in TotK knows who Link is. What's the purpose in telling the player "none of the time and effort you put in fully completing BotW and caring for the world was canon btw"?
