Camping gear is expensive just like fishing gear. Unless you do it twice month it's not worth. It's only enjoyable when the weather is nice and outright miserable when it's cold, raining or sweltering. Also if it' mosquito season, enjoy getting eaten alive. I used to do camping thinking I could get away from it all for a three day weekend. What found is that once you're in your late thirties it becomes too exhausting to be enjoyable. Camping takes a lot of energy. I found that whenever I got back I was totally exhausted and needed a day to sleep and rest before returning to work. That's not a vacation. It's a weekend devoted to physical labor. Also it's a waste of time. You're not getting anything done in your home when you're fucking off with a campfire in the woods. I found that it wasn't helping me with bettering my life. It was a burden that drained my money, time and energy. At the end of it, it just made my life more miserable.

I dunno what it really says about me but the single mom stuff doesn't bother me anywhere as much as I've always hated people in positions of power that aggressively overcompensate for their flaws by trying to moralfag as hard as possible (or otherwise doing something similar), which only just compounds how ineffectual they are
