Mike wouldn't have to cut off his old friend group - Daisy explicitly offered to listen to him vent, Abbey has always been sympathetic with Mike's problems, Stacy and Sue are both judgemental in different ways but they're overall good friends with him, and Amaya is a great listener by default. Sure, none of them are perfect, but they're still his friends. Mike could easily choose to hang out with them more, either one-on-one or collectively since most of them are in his gaming group. It'd be good for him, and he might even receive some useful advice.

But instead he's hyper-fixated on Lucy, Sandy, Paulo, and now James, and the only times we see him interact with any of his non-dickhead friends are when it in some way advances or influences his relationship(s) with the dickheads. Of course, given that Mike is under the eye of le demiurge, if he did start hanging out with his other friends they'd probably start getting afflicted with random personality resets towards being assholes too, so maybe it's for the best that he doesn't.
