Sabbath are the only early metal band that mattered, the rest were irrelevant popslopping trendies like Judiac Prophet, the next important bands to metal are Motorhead for introducing double kicks for thrash and Venom for setting the base of thrash, death, and black. Notably neither Motorhead nor Venom are spiritually metal, they only contributed to the techniques to implement it.

"Happy" metal in major is a creative dead end that was finished by shred and has no place to go beyond that. I can go over this like I have in the past if you like.
