Like the thickline artstyle of the 2000’s at least had appeal, it was influenced by UPA cartoons, and while not the best imitation of that style, you can clearly see the roots.
Wasn’t this artstyle hated in the 2000’s by some cartoonists? Like here’s John K making fun of this artstyle on a blog post, oohhhhh boy if only they knew how bad the bean mouth style would be.
Also, the reason this artstyle got so popular is cause it was cheaper to animate, but so is beanmouth. So why don’t modern animation studios ditch the overused beanmouth style and do this instead? It’ll seem like a great return to form.
