She is the instigator of doom. Like Satou mentions in the last episode, he was comfortably minding his own business and slowly dying everyday until Misaki arrived and made him want to prove to her he's not a hikki. Being with Yamazaki amplified that but it all started with Satou wanting to show Misaki he wasn't a loser (and wanting to rape her, in the manga)
