ppl have this misguided view of fripp being this super-straight-laced guy who only knows how to play guitar. and while the latter is maybe kinda partially true, the former is a misconception based on his musical diligence and him coming across well-spoken (usually). friendly reminder the dude literally thought the world was gonna end in 1981 because he took too much fucking acid in the 70s. he literally bailed on KC the first time and fired everyone because he had a bad trip and read some philosophy. so everything past 1981, to him, is just him being on bonus rd #9001. its all just extra time he never knew he had
