china has even more failure-to-launch neet zoomers than the us, since getting into a good school/getting a good job/affording good-quality housing is even more pozzed over there. they even have specific terms for it like "lying flat", "retreating inwards", and "mouse people". have a cousin like that coming up on 30.

chinese zoomers with the means are literally "fleeing to america" for undergrad/grad (and my aforementioned dipshit roommates would indeed be among them). but oftentimes due to visa sponsorship issues in this economy, they end up just coming back to china, and employers over there eat it up since they're like "ooh, american degree, shiny!".

i'm just fucking pissed that what are supposed to be the peak years of my life are being screwed over by my parents. it's a long story that's practically a doofenshmirz backstory, but my mom always fucked up my life by putting me in sperg classes, giving me aides, making me ride the fucking short bus, encouraging me to play with only other chinese + autist kids, etc. they're not in country clubs and they're not wine moms or anything. they're chinese mofos with christian values and they sure don't fuck around. i could've been normal if my parents hadn't fucked my life over, as they still do today.

maybe if they hadn't pissed me off so much i wouldn't have ended up so autistic that i had to go to a sped school. maybe i could've done more ap courses, and gotten into a better uni. maybe i could've gone to sleepaway camp and scouting and been more outdoorsy, or even just gone camping with my dad at least once like he never ended up doing.
