Yes, many 'icons of design'(including most of the stuff in the original image) are cheap junk for the middle class. This does not negate their influence or ability to inspire(i think you probably be inspired and create some interesting from almost any source), but I also don't have to accept and praise this tasteless, tacky, middle-brow, cookie-cutter interior design style plauging Instagram and Pinterest just because it's full of objects you fetishize because a Taschen book told you were good. The modal person who buys this shit is a gaey urbane hipster coping with the fact they'll never own a home, don't have any taste, and don't have a personality so they buy junk and throw it all together because it aproximates some kind of conspicuous ideal of being cultured that they saw online. And unless you are some kind of retarded flyover neet you know exactly the kind of people I'm talking about. Lara Lynn I imagine, is an exception that proves the rule.
