Asgore feels like the only really big exception. Hell I was able to correctly guess that Toriel's involvement in Chapter 3 would be greatly downplayed despite us already knowing she'd end up in the dark world.

The undertale characters are largely background supporting roles in hometown as opposed to getting involved in dark world stuff. Maybe Toby will have things go crazy with the final chapters.
