It's true though. Most of the rails are on the outer portion of the track acting how they would irl. In a racing setting tho it's worse taking such a wide turn, the speed boost from them doesn't make up for it
The only benefit to them is less likely of being targeted by items, but due to them being slower you fall behind anyway as if you were hit by an item which kinda defeats the purpose..
