I know it's annoying, but stay away from combination locks.
Your goal for the lock is to just be enough that someone can't be opportunistic - for wire or steel reinforced zipties you need a multitool or snips. For a combination lock all you need is to know how to decode them - which even a retard like me knows. No tools required.
So even if carrying a key is annoying, it's worth it.

Then again, if you're in a relatively safe place and it's visible, chances are the thief won't want to spend the time decoding.
I have a similar lock like yours (picrel) which I use to secure my helmet and backpack to a post when I'm swimming in the local lake. Just enough security that someone can't simply take my backpack with him, but I'm under no illusion that if someone wanted this would hold them back a minute max.

For you bike, just carry a ulock or chain lock wrapped around the seatpost. That way it'll actually protect it since it's far more valuable. And no combo locks for those.
