they should take a page out of riot's book and make lots of supplementary materials to make people actually give a shit about the characters instead what they did with dota2: barebones lore with stock characters with generic designs and then a comic + shitty tv show way years later and far too late
this kind of shit is not what makes people want to invest creatively in your universe
lore should not come from microtransaction cosmetic descriptions and wiki pages for things in your fantasy universe should be long and full of details not "place is a place where a character comes from."
