Maria presses a tiny, chaste little kiss to Shadow's cheek, then to the corner of his mouth, and then leans back to look at him. He brings his hand up to the spot where her lips were, and she smiles at his expression. He's got that look on him again. Wide-eyed, dazed, looking at her as if he's in some sort of trance. She pushes her forehead against his, and he gazes into her lovely blue eyes.
"Did you like that?" she asks, almost as if she's out of breath.
He's still for a bit, and seconds pass before he finally looks down, away from her stare that seems to be looking into his soul. He gives a small nod, and Maria's smile just gets bigger.
"That's good... then, what about... this?" And she gives him another, chaste little kiss, but this time directly on his lips. She again leans back to admire her work.
"Your face is all red, Shadow."
He doesn't respond; he can't, really. What is he supposed to say? It's all new to him. He only knows that he trusts Maria with... whatever this is. And that it's creating some strange warmth inside him that he can't properly describe. Shadow's eyes dart from the floor to her eyes, to her pink lips, and then back to the floor again.
Something about the sight of his vulnerability grips Maria and fascinates her. She wants to see more. So she brushes her hand against his warm cheek and raises his head so he's looking at her, and then she kisses him again, this time a bit longer than before. And again, and again. Her hand rests over his fluffy chest, and she can feel how wildly his heart beats.
