And that it's creating some strange warmth inside him that he can't properly describe. Shadow's eyes dart from the floor to her eyes, to her pink lips, and then back to the floor again.
Something about the sight of his vulnerability grips Maria and fascinates her. She wants to see more. So she brushes her hand against his warm cheek and raises his head so he's looking at her, and then she kisses him again, this time a bit longer than before. And again, and again. Her hand rests over his fluffy chest, and she can feel how wildly his heart beats.
