I really still think that Carol is a complete red herring and that she still supports Asgores obsession with figuring out what's going on, which Toriel hates. Toriel doesnt like it, Kris is uncomfortable with the concepts of conspiracy theories in general as a result of how far Asgore took it, and maybe Rudy has just moved on too. Even if it does involve Dess, as far as hes concerned it could just be a matter of being rational and healthy about it and not forgetting about the daughter he still has. It tore apart Asgores family after all
