Toby's shit is far from the only thing where I see people say that the music is the only good thing about it, so that actually makes me realize something - people can talk all day about what they think "bad" writing is, but I don't think anyone seems to be able explain what they think GOOD writing is, e.g. when people say things like this I'm under the implication that there's some kind of default example of a game that actually really truly means a lot to them and they hold it as a pillar of writing that can stand up even if you remove the peripheral components like the music, but this board is so irony-poisoned that I just don't actually believe anyone can actually explain - in detail - what game they think has above-average storytelling in a way that isn't deliberately detached or otherwise ironic.
