I don't disagree with you there. It can technically be called creating it, but without everything else you haven't really created the complete comic or character. So "co-creator" is more appropriate, and Stan sometimes exaggerated his role and contributions. But not nearly as much as people sometimes accuse him of doing. He gave out a lot more credit than he's given credit for.

I think Ditko deserves more credit than Lee for creating Spider-Man as we know him. I also think Marvel comics and characters wouldn't have been nearly as successful without Stan Lee steering them.
