(Part 9):
It's almost 2023 and I am beyond excited to begin this new year as a follower of Christ, who I see as my heavenly Father, my true Father, separate from my earthly biological follower. I thank Him now for the many blessings he has bestowed on my life. I have struggled with a victim mentality for as long as I can remember, always complaining about this or that injustice, rarely expressing gratitude or seeing His blessings. My earthly father is the same way! I now put daily gratitude at the center of my faith.

I think you may have been approaching God the wrong way.
Were you constantly afraid of going to hell? There is no reason to fear that when you have confidence that you've been saved.
You know you're saved when you love God with all your heart, love your brothers and sisters around the world, have love for yourself, and you're not committing sins habitually. I pray you will seek out Jesus again. God bless you.
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects punishment. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love. We love because God first loved us." (1 John 4:18-19, CEB)
