I regularly heal, spend time positioning myself myself for flashlight saves, and spend time looking for hexes (albeit stopping and going for a gen if I can't find it on my side of the map) and I haven't gotten a single crow
I'm sure the system has its problems but a lot of it is just survivors spending too much time not doing their objective
