Isn't that just an argument against all religion, not Christianity specifically?

I've been seeing a LOT of buzz about this movie over the last couple of weeks. Did something happen or is this just one of those collective cultural moments? One of my friends watched it for the first time just two days ago because they heard some coworkers discussing it.
