He's in the running but I'm thinking it might go to Naishuller only because he has a more accommodating schedule and is already an in-house director. If timing didn't screw Leitch over, he would've already been chosen as director (he was the first choice after Cuaron) but as it stands, they want Leitch's style and sensibility brought to Bond so they'll go for the next big thing which is Naishuller. He has an Amazon original coming out next month. Developments are still ongoing, though.
Alfonso Cuaron was discussed but he wanted to do Bond in a radical new fashion (70's thriller) when Pascal/Heyman want to bring Bond back to basics. He didn't agree to cut down on his creative freedom so he stepped away entirely.
