They're essentially pivoting to making Playstation an "Experience". Remember the "This is an Xbox" ad campaign Microsoft had? Yeah, that's what they're talking about but with Playstation. You'll still have a Playstation system but now "Playstation" is on everything else as well.
It means they're going to port everything that would have been exclusive to everything now either day one or with very little time between being exclusive and multiplat. They will likely also try to get a PSN client on PC that you download games from ala the current Microsoft Store and Xbox Apps, get a PSN app onto Switch 2 and the next Xbox so that you can download games and DLC from their storefront while Nintendo and Microsoft get a cut, they're going to force you to pay for their subscription services to do things like multiplayer or the game catalog on those platforms, and they're going to port everything off to get people pulled into PSN. Which is bafflingly stupid. You can already see the seeds of them doing this with their ports like Ghost of Sushi having PC-specific trophy lists.
"Engagement" means posting screenshots and videos on Twitter, talking about Playstation stuff on forums, using #hashtags when talking about #Playstation, and specifically going to Playstation-specific sections of discussions to talk about their games. What we are doing right now would be considered "Engagement" to them. It also means retention on games so that's why they're hell bent on live service titles as it's both retention for years and free money from microtransactions. It's why they were so freaked out at losing CoD to Microsoft because they get so much money from the microtransactions.

Exactly this. Again, go look at the PC sales for basic things like LBP's game, or go look at how Lego Horizon completely flopped on both PS5 and Switch. I guarantee you if Lego Horizon was exclusive to PS4 and PS5 it would have sold maybe a third of HFW instead of nothing at all.
