I knew a guy who worked as a war correspondent and had been blown up (multiple times), shot at, and kidnapped by maniac child soldiers in Africa. He was a tough guy, and not afraid of anybody. He was also the most genuinely "I love cats" and "I love flowers" guy I think I've ever met. He liked to raise kittens and grow flowers.
