The next day, you spend the entire time resting, just like Officer Abe Miyu advised. The only thing you do is gently dust your anime figures with a makeup brush. Your head still aches a little, but you can tell you’re slowly getting better.
By Wednesday, you decide it’s time. You make your way down to the basement, stopping in front of the glowing blue portal. The light pulses gently, almost like it’s alive. You take a deep breath, and step through. The other side is a narrow tunnel, almost identical to the one you came from. As soon as you arrive, a blue screen pops up:
"Title obtained: Otherworlder"
> Otherworlder: Learn magical skills at a faster rate.
You open your status window. Your titles now read: "Loser, Pig, Master of the Portal, Master of the Dungeon, Otherworlder." You frown slightly at the first two. They don’t give you any powers, just insults, but the other three, you know they are rare and powerful.
You follow the tunnel until you arrive in what looks like another basement, old, dusty, thick with cobwebs. The air smells faintly of mold. It looks similar to your mansion’s basement, but it has a more abandoned, forgotten atmosphere.
You climb the creaky wooden stairs and step into the hallway. It’s quiet, abandoned, your footsteps leaving prints in the thick dust. No one’s been here in years. If this house belongs to you, you already have ideas. For instance, you could turn one of the rooms into a private museum to showcase your collection.
You push open the door to a nearby room. It’s full of broken furniture. You walk to the window and force it open, letting fresh air rush in. Outside, you see a park overtaken by wild plants and tall pine trees.
You step outside. The sun is warm on your skin. The house itself looks about the same size as the one on Earth. But once you look past the gate, the difference is obvious. The street is paved with stone, and the houses nearby have a medieval, European style, with wooden beams and stone walls. You really are in another world.
You consider heading back to rest. However, you wonder if there’s a good restaurant nearby that serves strange, exotic food. As an explorer, you know what your duty is: to taste everything. You remember reading about Charles Darwin eating every new animal he found. That’s what a real explorer does. You might need local money, though.
What will you do?
>Ask your stepmother for gold coins
>Clean up one of the rooms to use as private museum
>Take a stroll through the other world town
>Write in
The picture is from the first episode of "The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows". I was struck by how closely it matches the mansion picture I posted here >>6246905, so I decided to use it.
