very good point, immediately made me remember the standards xkcd and also how kickass the name "Waylibre" would be if this was actually a thing. (do note I'm not too knowledgeable on this so I might get some things wrong here) Ideally this proposed better Wayland spec would be aim to be compatible with the original to avoid major breakage but with less bureaucracy I'm hoping a satisfactory (and potentially even leaner) specification would be developed by the community, which would of course remove all the issues of arbitrary bullshit that leads to something as simple as xeyes being IMPOSSIBLE to implement hahaha I'll never get over that
