Well no shit. You are just telling them a vauge non answer with no actual substance. You aren't telling him HOW or any sort of direction. If you wanted to lose weight and someone told you to stop eating what does that mean literally or figuratively? No shit OP is gonna fight back because you aren't giving them anything that makes sense and is open to their own thoughts than actual facts.
Anywho OP here is some non gay answers that hopefully will work.
It seems like your issue is you don't have a social circle that goes out and does things. You need to get one, but how do you do that? If you have social media try looking for local groups of your interests and see if they do meet ups or events. Meetup.com is a good one if you hate social media in general. Go to the event and start talking to people, and if you find you are vibing with the group then keep going and you'll make friends. Eventually they (or maybe you!) Will invite you to stuff outside of the regular met up or other social groups and you'll start to really bond with them who will then introduce you to women for you to talk too. Or if there are women in the group you may end up connecting with them.
Yes this isn't going to be a instant or fast process so do try to calm down but that's about your only option right now.
