Are there stat caps in this game? While looking around the menus' I noticed the bars get more filled depending on your equipment, are they indicators of the "maximum" value of a stat before the game stops count it or are the bars purely aesthetic?

For example, the Attack Power bar seems to fill up completely at 1200~. When I equip the Double Edge Gears, it greatly exceeds that and goes up to 1700~. Does the bar not matter and my attack is actually 1700, or am I simply overflowing from the true maximum of 1200?
