I remember Sanniang getting more flak at her inclusion. Mostly because she (and her husband) wasn't even a character that was in the novel, more like an ancient version of a fanfiction for the novel. Her skimpy outfits in her debut did little to sway people's opinion that there were much better options for a Shu add.
