I think you vastly overestimate French capabilties of fighting an offshore-war; also the 100k troops you spoke of would not just magically teleport to africa either.
by the time of Operation Torch Vichy france had like 200 tanks and less than 150k troops so chances are Italians could have actually pushed them in 1940 instead of starting trouble with the greek
