It's akin to a roguelite with small bits of meta progression so people like me who like all those 15-25$ indie games of the same genres really took to this fast. You do training in your stat -> randomized event sometimes with options-> race and then repeat. Strategic gameplay is really rewarded if you plan your run in advance. Alternatively you can treat it as a story mode and just read the girls careers, picking things blindly and it can usually work out.
