Atlético Madrid and Feyenoord have reached an agreement in principle about the transfer of Dávid Hancko. The Spanish club wants to add the left-footed defender to Diego Simeone's squad this summer and now seems to be succeeding in doing so. This is reported by Feyenoord Transfermarkt on X.

After the failed transfer to Al-Nassr, Atlético quickly stepped in. The Madrid club has been interested in Hancko for some time and sees him as a direct reinforcement for the left side of the defence. In talking with Feyenoord, an agreement in principle has now been reached on the transfer fee and bonuses. The exact details are currently being put to paper by both clubs.

Hancko himself has long since given his consent. Last summer, he was already keen to move to Spain, but at the time, the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement. Now, that move seems set to become a reality. The defender has already left the training camp in southern Germany and is travelling to sign his contract with Atlético Madrid. Details of the exact amount are expected soon.

Feyenoord is letting any grass grow and is moving on immediately. With Hancko's departure approaching, the Rotterdam club will once again approach Middlesbrough for Rav van den Berg. That deal is back on the table and is seen as a serious alternative for the vacancy in defence.
