What I don't understand is that WFS's other game, Another Eden, uses the exact same ideas for 8 fucking years and never changed this.
Fields are a big part of the games as well, and absolutely mandatory. They are multipliers. Only difference is that the enemy actually sometimes uses their own fields and there's ways to not make them easily overwritable, though certain characters (and almost all of those enemies) can force remove the field.
And that's not the only thing. Mind Eye comes from there as well. The hit buff also exists and is extremely good for different reasons: Damage cap. Hit buff is the only way to actually buff past the damage cap, adding 1 hit with the power of the first hit of an attack.
I am just confused.
