It's because zoomers on average do have less engagement with their local community, and on average do have fewer genuine real world connections. The key word here is genuine. Most of their relationships are very shallow surface level fair-weather friends, or mistaking social media engagement with socializing. Zoomers are far more likely to work on repairing relationship issues and are more prone to; avoid conflict, cut people off over minor disagreements, ghost, or not value their connections to others. This is largely because they weren't taught proper socialization skills and they grew up with the internet so they didn't learn how to properly separate how they act online with how they act in the real world.
