I buy a lot of shit without having any attachment to the source material. Literally don't care about who these robots are other than LOOK HOW FUCKING COOL THEY LOOK. Don't even like Ashley Wood's art, but ooof, look at how cool the fucking robots look in physical form!
I buy a lot of things on a whim, because "that looks cool" and will keep them forever.
I think OP's problem is that he's just a consumerwhore. Buys whatever just because it's the flavor of the month or because OLD FAVORITETHING THAT GOT NEW THING ANNOUNCED.

It's fine if you lose interest in something over time, but if you have dozens of things you're getting rid of every 5 years, that's too much.
MAYBE the first time some you may go overboard and buy way too much junk. You acknowledge you have a problem then. But you do that AGAIN? That's nuttery.
Pretty much the only time i get rid of shit is because something better came along or the toy i bought turned out to be shit. The latter is rare, since toys haven't improved since the early 00s and companies have been cutting budgets for the past 6 years or so.
