Why did you lie to me, /v/? Tyrian is so much better than this trash

Can anyone inform me exactly why people think this game is any good? I imported it back in 1999 and was pretty disappointed it, Tyrian is a far better game and was released 4 years before. This has like barely an hour of content and Tyrian has over 100.
