I specifically buy physical because I want something permanent that doesn't rely on an internet connection. I want to be able to say I can play a game I buy now in 25 years without having questions about it. Physical is the only way to do this.
Game Key Cards lack this by simply being the equivalent of codes in a box, except in practice they also have the inconvenience of physical (cart swapping etc.).
I see the purpose of them for some people - it's a cheap way to manufacture physical that still allows resale. But I never resell, so that's pointless to me. Considering this I'd find it inoffensive if it was used as a way for smaller games that might not otherwise be able to release physical would use. But that's not the case. Almost every third party game on the system is using these things. In practice this makes a physical collection for the system more impossible than any other platform before it.
