Here's the idea, inspired by a star fort.
I build up by about ten tiles, and then build a cross. It's a bit taller than it is wide, so it's not a square but...
It's designed to capture the geothermal vent inside while also staying within the anima tree border. And without needing to build bridges over the dumping pond.
This expansion about doubles again the amount of walled buildable room I have
