You know you can split those belt lines, right? Like almost everything is in multiples of 15. A normal iron node with a mk 2 miner on it will output 120 iron per minute and each smelter will take 30 iron and output 30 iron ingots. So, using mk2 belts, which transport 120/min one miner mk 2 can support 3 smelters. There is no need for storage depots between the miner and the smelters; buffers are really only useful with end products so you can pick them up when you go to construct. Even then, with the advent of dimensional depots, the necessity for storage is even less now, really only good for buffers for dimensional depots.
