The most annoying part about buying silencers aside from the wait itself is the $200 tax. The SHORT Act though is completely pointless without full deregulation since everyone will just keep using pistol braces even if the tax is $0. There's also the fact that simply being married and leaving your NFA shit at home with your wife and kids while you're at work is technically a felony unless you add your wife to your NFA trust. If you bought all your shit as an individual, then you currently have to pay another $200 for each item to move them into your trust, since that counts as a transfer. :^)
