Think of it this way, it's a fact that there are some good indie games that most people will never play because they look like indie games. But if all the voice, 3D, animations, and music assets were better thanks to AI then way more people would play them and they could become big beloved hits. I like to use the game Outward as an example of a title that AI could improve, it's a cool game but it's just so janky with low production values that it could never compete with or dethrone the big boys in the action adventure genre. Future games like that will be able to though.
