You are forgetting about one important aspect: polution.
Mining shit like heavy metals and rare earths is dirty as fuck. China has entire villages with life expectancy worse than middle ages Europe because of mining runoff, the kids who mine cobalt on the Congo to make lithium batteries work all get poisoned to shit, and it takes a lot of acids and harsh chemicals to process ore into usable metal.
If you do it on Earth, mining the Niobium and Cobalt and shit means paying a shitload of money to clean shit up or else accepting the land will be poisoned for decades if not centuries.
If you are doing it in space though... there is nothing to poison. You can use as much mercury and arsenic to mine gold as you want, it won't go anywhere. You can use superconcentrated cancer juice to process the ore into Iridium cause there is no ground water to worry about. You don't even need to worry about electricity in some cases, you can use mirrors to make solar furnaces which will conveniently be working in a hard vacuum and melt your stuff into pure ingots without expensive closed system furnaces.
And let me tell you, those poisonous and cancerous chemicals aren't just used for laughs: shit really REALLY makes it a lot easier to do chemistry.
That would crash the price to process ore in space compared to Earth. You could fuck over the entire competition by selling your metals and rare earths at a lower price but at the same time a higher profit margin. (Assuming of course the cost to send cargo to space is low enough)
