Thanks for giving an actual critique, unlike the other anons ITT blindly complaining or repeating their same anti-Pixar catchphrases.

Personally I like how cartoony the animals look, with their ping pong ball eyes and simplified models; but I do agree many of the ones we've seen so far have pretty unremarkable designs, which is the LAST thing you'd want for a family-friendly talking animal movie. Rio, Migration, Brother Bear, and The Lion King are all great examples of giving some visual flair to feral designs that can't rely on fun wardrobes like Sing or Zootopia. I'd even argue The Wild Robot did a decent enough job making its animal cast visually interesting. Even if Hoppers's main stylistic goal is to capture the natural beauty of a forest environment, broader character silhouettes and some creative "cheats" with fur colors would go along way.

Also I totally agree on Mabel's robot. Having the most prominent design in the film be a simple beaver without any unique accessories was a huge mistake, and I'm waiting to see how Disney will try and push it as a super marketable design. Stitch is a cool blue alien, and at least Panda Mei was a giant red panda, but beavers are as basic as they come.
