Really competition is the whole sink or swim with it right? Same with robotic labor which has been a thing for a long time, same with drones vs manned military vehicles and infantry. What works works. It's never been about ideals.

Myself I like it for depicting stuff from my stories that otherwise will cost me 50-100 dollars from a good artist. I think the filter here is mostly up to taste. Ugly and messy images is entirely on the human for not throwing it in the bin.
