Thank you basedchan for this feedback. Yeah I agree with you. I always struggle with that fine line of too simple and too complected. I actually did try making a variation of that main "riff" before I posted the song, but I couldn't find any other notes that worked. I've been saying I will take piano lessons for 20 years, but I'm a fuck up. I'll look into the chord's notes and see if there's any clues tot more variation(s).

thanks anon. I'm experimenting with the idea of loud snares. I like a lot of stuff with loud snares like Def Leppard and Ratt. Also a lot of 80's R&B and New Wave that has claps, snaps, and/or tambourine on every snare hit. I feel like loud snares help white people feel the beat better somehow. Now too much bass/kick on the other hand......
