I just realized this despite knowing the DLC takes place in the past and I feel so fucking retarded.
For some reason I thought the swamp monster you fight in the DLC was the same one from the base game that was weakened after you kicked its ass. But it's the other way around. You kick its ass in the past and then it comes back stronger in the future. I was wondering why you couldn't finish it off in the DLC but it has to escape in order to fight it in the future.
