Hungary arguably had the single worst diplomacy and foreign policy in the wold for the last 600 years. It's incredible how consistently bad it was. You can't even blame it on some stupid rulers (they wouldn't be bad for six centuries straight). The people were behind them.
They then tried to oppress other peoples but had no might behind it as well as no civilization so they couldn't excuse it as being harsh on savages, and they were called out the moment their daddy got stomped.
Hungary could have admitted they should play nice and safe in 1750 at the latest, told the inbred Habsburg cuck to fuck off, do nothing while securing good relations with natural allies (France and Russia), and would have been better off than what they ended up being.
