SW5 had potential but it was squandered. I quite like the artstyle, and there's a few characters who's redesigns I like a lot more than the original such as Yoshimoto and Ieyasu. I skipped SoS because I don't really care for the Sanada but focusing on the Oda is fine in my book because They're a lot more interesting and diverse. But the game had too many flaws that make it worse than 4, obviously the cloned movesets despite having less characters is bad. No Keiji was bad, but no Ranmaru was unforgivable. I've heard people say that he was too similar to Yasuke for being a bodyguard close to Nobunaga so he got left out, but the games had previously shown that Ranmaru and Mitsuhide had been close prior to Honnoji, and they could have used the expanded focus to develop that relationship further to drive the betrayal even closer home. But Mitsuhide pretty famously didn't care for Yasuke, and the only reason he didn't call him a slur when he stripped him of his rank is he didn't know any. Honestly I think the next SW game will either be an origins type or ignore SW5 anyway, Abyss doesn't have a single SW5 interpretation of a character yet. But then again abyss doesn't have every character yet- I wish they'd focus on completing the actual warriors cast possibly including Orochi before they had started introducing guest characters from series I don't care about. But whatever.
