I've driven a car for a long time now and to this day I simply cannot understand how an engine works. Yes, I know gas + trigger makes controlled explosions inside cylinders which make a piston turn or whatever but the way this somehow translates to my car going forward when I press the gas pedal is beyond my comprehension.
